Just like Pinoy Big Brother, tatlo rin ang magiging host ng bagong imported reality talent search ng ABS CBN na PINOY DREAM ACADEMY and they are no other than Nikki Gil, Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga. Who are better to host a talent search for future stars than multi-talented stars themeselves Nikki, Sam and Toni na may kanya-kanya ring albums na na-release.

Pinoy Dream Academy is similar to Pinoy Big Brother in a sense that the contestants will be housed together but not for a series of relational tests but for a rigid training to become stars. At the end of the week, there will be an elimination of the weakest. Unlike PBB, the contestants are allowed to interact in the outside world. They will be coached by different celebrities, voice and dance instructors, and everything pertaining to the performing arts.

Pinoy Dream Academy has successful counterparts in other parts of the world. It’s called “Opercion Triunfo” in Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Spain. In France, it is called “Star Academy”. In Russia, “Factory of the Stars”. And in UK, it’s known as “Fame Academy”.

Will Pinoy Dream Academy be successful here in the Philippines? It’s very similar with GMA’s Starstruck. And it will collide with another imported talent search “Philippine Idol” by ABC 5. We will find out later this month.
