Tokyo, Japan — After sharing the pre-release track “déjà vu” a week earlier, rising Japanese artist Reira Ushio has released her second EP HB2U today, February 25.
On HB2U, Reira Ushio centers the project around songs based on her own real-life experiences and personal emotions, expanding beyond weaving other’s stories into her music on past releases.
In addition to previously shared songs such as “My Thief,” featured in the Japanese romance drama series Today, I Fell in Love – Graduation Arc 2025 and “Harenohini,” the ending theme for the TV anime The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, the EP includes a total of 10 songs that candidly reveal feelings she has never expressed in her music before.
The pre-release track “déjà vu” stands as the EP’s centerpiece and is accompanied by an official music video. On this song, Reira Ushio draws from moments of hesitation and personal reflection, featuring sincere and relatable lyrics.
Driven by a groovy mid-tempo sound and carried by Reira Ushio’s distinctive, captivating vocals, the New EP leaves a strong and lasting impression, offering listeners a glimpse into her inner world.

About Reira Ushio
Reira Ushio is a singer-songwriter born on February 9, 2002, in Tokyo.
She began her musical journey in high school, joining her school’s band club as a way to overcome stage fright. What started as a personal challenge soon evolved into a creative awakening; she discovered greater joy in crafting original songs than in performing covers. By the age of 16, she was already writing lyrics and composing her own music.
She later pursued literary arts at an art-focused school, where she realized that her sensitivity to language gained even more depth and impact when fused with melody. This turning point unlocked a new level of creative expression and solidified her determination to devote herself fully to a career in music.
Reira Ushio’s sound is defined by crystal-clear, powerful vocals carried by irresistibly catchy melodies that linger long after the song ends. Her raw, dramatic lyrics unfold like intimate stories, inviting each listener to experience their own unique emotional journey while leaving a lasting sense of inspiration.
She has recently been gaining international attention with her breakout track “ハレの日に – Harenohini”, featured as the ending theme for the anime The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, further expanding her global fanbase and establishing her as an artist to watch.
