Netizens have slammed the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s (INC) upcoming three-day rally for transparency and accountability in government from November 16 to 18 at Rizal Park in Manila, expressing dismay over the inconvenience it may cause to the public, especially to ordinary employees, students, and commuters.

The INC said the peaceful gathering seeks to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance.

However, many netizens criticized the activity, calling it disruptive and unnecessary.

“Ayun na naman sila! Power show disguised as prayer rally,” a netizen posted on Facebook.

Another user commented, “‘Kaayusan at kaligtasan’ daw, pero chaos and traffic ang dala ninyo, jusko ko po Iglesia!”

“Kilos protesta? More like kilos abala ‘yan, INC e,” quipped another, adding that many students will be affected by the assembly.

“Kaya pala walang pasok, may INC-pocalypse na naman!” a netizen commented.

Meanwhile, another netizen urged the INC to “use your faith the right way, not to manipulate people,” noting that the religious group is known for endorsing candidates involved in controversies and corruption issues.

“For peace and order pero ang tamang support sila sa mga korap at magnanakaw like yung mga Kampon ng mga Duterte!” a netizen pointed out.

“Sige lang, magdasal kayo… sana maisip nyo rin sino binoboto nyo next time. halos alagad ng mga Dutae yung mga binoto ninyo, mahiya nmn kayo sa Anti corrupt ninyo rally!” another added.

In January, the INC also held a rally opposing moves to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte.

“Nakakapagod na yung ‘rally for change’ na walang napapalitan sa sinusuportahan niya, puro mga magnanakaw at wala ginagawa sa gobyerno, tulad ng pagsupport ninyo sa mga Duterte,” a netizen stressed.

“Ang faith nyo selective din? or faith ninyo nasa mga Duterte?” another added.
