Dagohoy was a former member of the Philippine national karate team, having represented the country in international competitions like the World and Asian Championships and the Southeast Asian Games.

As a national team coach, he is known for disciplined and dedicated approach. His background as a former national athlete gives him deep experience in both kata (forms) and kumite (sparring), which he uses to train his students.

He established Fight Alliance Sports Team, a karate dojo in Pasig City, to develop new talent in the local karate scene.
