When Rock Meets A cappella: CASA Reimagines Band Classics
The Contemporary A cappella Singers Association (CASA) is bringing a modern and electrifying twist to the songs of your favorite rock and pop bands through the years! Composed of talented Ateneo student performers, the group will hold its annual culminating Grand Concert, entitled: “Zenith”, in the Ateneo de Manila University on May 22 and 23, 2026.
Under the direction of esteemed vocalist Michael Melvin Odoemene, CASA wows pop, OPM, and classic hits enjoyers alike with their performances — only every sound purely comes from the human voice. Their performances combine energetic rhythms from their beatboxers, seamless harmonies, and innovative arrangements that turn familiar holiday tunes into something even more fun and refreshing.
Taking inspiration from world-renowned pop a cappella acts like Pentatonix, CASA brings the same modern energy and vocal precision to their performances. In Zenith, CASA will be covering beloved pop and rock anthems across generations! Whether it’s the vocal intensity of Queen, the infectious hooks of One Direction, or the nostalgic grit of Eraserheads, CASA aims to entertain with their a cappella twist.
Over the years, CASA has continued to make its mark beyond the Ateneo community. In 2022, the group shared the stage with Jed Madela and the Philippine Madrigal Singers at Shangri-La Plaza’s Christmas Tree Lighting, later emerging as champions in TV5’s Tropang LOL Caroling segment. They went on to become champions of Blue Harmonies 2025: Pintig hosted by the Ateneo de Manila College Glee Club, and most recently, finished in 3rd Place as a Grand Finalist in TV5’s Tinig ng Pasko School Chorale Competition last December 2025.
