Global K-pop powerhouse BLACKPINK continues to dominate the music industry as their latest EP Deadline shattered records with an impressive 1.46 million copies sold on its first day of release. The milestone sets a new benchmark for K-pop girl groups, reinforcing BLACKPINK’s position as one of the most influential acts in the global music scene.
According to their agency YG Entertainment, the group’s third EP sold 1,461,785 copies in a single day, based on data from Hanteo Chart. The achievement marks not only BLACKPINK’s personal best but also the highest first-day album sales ever recorded by a K-pop girl group.
The record was previously held by aespa, whose 2023 mini album My World sold approximately 1.37 million copies on its first day. With Deadline surpassing that figure, BLACKPINK has once again proven its immense global fanbase and commercial power.

Prior to this release, the group’s strongest opening-day performance came from their 2022 album Born Pink, which sold 1.01 million copies on its first day. The new EP therefore represents a significant leap, further highlighting the group’s growing influence and the continued support of fans worldwide.
Despite the impressive sales numbers, the EP’s lead single Go has received mixed reactions from listeners. Some fans praised the track’s fresh sound and experimentation, while others felt the melody lacked the powerful impact of the group’s previous chart-topping hits. Known for their high-energy and bold musical style, BLACKPINK’s new direction sparked debate among fans and critics alike.
Even with the divided opinions, the music video for “Go” has already gained massive traction online. Within just two days of release, the MV accumulated 28 million views, demonstrating the group’s enduring ability to capture global attention regardless of critical reception.
BLACKPINK’s record-breaking sales and strong digital performance once again show how the group continues to push boundaries in the K-pop industry. With Deadline making history on its first day alone, expectations remain high for how the EP will perform in the coming weeks across international charts and streaming platforms.
