Angkasangga Partylist Kicks Off Campaign with Strong Batangueño Support

Starmo Admin February 23, 2025 3 minutes read

The Angkasangga Partylist kicked off its campaign on a high note at the highly anticipated Barako Fest in Lipa City, Batangas, drawing strong support from Batangueños. This event marked the start of Angkasangga’s congressional bid, focused on amplifying the voices of the transport sector and Filipino informal workers. The partylist highlighted key issues affecting riders and workers, presenting a vision for meaningful change that promises to uplift many lives.

Angkas CEO and Angkasangga’s first nominee, George Royeca, led the presentation, sharing his commitment to the cause. “We started this advocacy with Angkas, improving the lives of thousands of motorcycle riders. Now, I will champion all motorcycle and tricycle drivers in the country who are still facing discrimination and awaiting recognition,” Mr. Royeca said. “Your vote for Angkasangga Partylist #107 will be the key to lifting them out of poverty. I ask for your support to help our Filipino riders,” he urged.

The event also gained strong backing from the influential Recto family, further solidifying support for the partylist’s mission to create jobs and opportunities for Filipinos. Former Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto, known as Ate Vi, led the family’s endorsement, urging, “Vote for Angkasangga Partylist, #107 in the ballot. They fight for policies to uplift informal workers and ensure they receive the protections they deserve.”

Her husband, Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, and their sons Ryan Recto and Lucky Manzano, who are running for congressional and vice gubernatorial positions, echoed the call to empower Filipino workers and build a brighter future for Batangas.

The event’s energy was amplified by vibrant performances from celebrities, with Vice Ganda, a close friend of Mr. Royeca, bringing her infectious “unkabogable” energy to the crowd. With her trademark humor, Vice Ganda urged the audience to support Angkasangga, saying, “Sir George Royeca is my friend. I know his heart and mind. Trust me when I say, we’re voting for a good and service-oriented person if we vote for Angkasangga Partylist #107.”

As the event concluded, the overwhelming energy and support for Angkasangga left a lasting impact. With the backing of influential figures like the Recto family, George Royeca’s powerful message, and Vice Ganda’s infectious support, Angkasangga is set for a strong push in the 2025 elections. The call for change, especially for riders and informal workers, resounded throughout the festival, marking the beginning of a transformative campaign for the Filipino people.
