Labor Groups and Youth Org Back Teodoros

Starmo Admin April 24, 2025 3 minutes read

Several labor groups and a youth organization have expressed backing for the candidacy of Marcy Teodoro and Maan Teodoro as 1st District Representative and Mayor, respectively.

In a statement, the Manggagawa Para sa Kapakanan at Pagkakaisa sa Armscor (MAKAPA-ARMSCOR), Samahan ng Manggagawa sa Sunlight Food Corporation (SMSFC), Samahang Manggagawa ng Ponderosa Leather Goods Company, Inc. (SMPLGC), Kapatirang Samahan ng Manggagawang (KASAMA) Labor Federation, and the National Confederation of Labor (NCL) said the Teodoros have proven themselves dependable, especially during times of crisis such as the pandemic and various natural calamities.

They also denounced politicians who use politics merely as a tool to gain power and wealth, those who pretend to be Marikeños just to qualify for candidacy, and those who change their stance based on political convenience.

“Ayaw namin ng politikong hindi patas lumaban. Ayaw namin ng politikong idedemanda ang kanilang mga kalaban para lang makaungos sila sa puwesto,” the groups said.

Meanwhile, the Kabataang Marikeño Organization also issued an official statement of support for the Teodoros and Team MARikina City, citing Mayor Marcy Teodoro’s track record and programs that have benefitted the youth.

They praised the peace, order, and cleanliness of the city, attributing it to Mayor Teodoro’s years of dedicated service.

The group vowed to stand with and defend Teodoro without expecting anything in return, saying he has consistently addressed the needs of Marikenos through the years, especially the youth.

“Tumutulong at nararamdaman simula noon hanggang ngayon, May unos man, bagyo, sunog o baha, ramdam natin sila dahil mahal nila ang ating lungsod. LABAN MARIKINA!” it stressed.
