It’s never been easier to stay connected, and never been harder to hear yourself think.
With their latest ballad “僕を探してた Boku wo Sagashiteta“, LIL LEAGUE from EXILE TRIBE steps away from spectacle to explore something deeper: the uncertainty of losing sight of yourself while trying to keep up with everyone else. Wrapped in an aching melody and heartfelt lyrics, the song follows the slow, imperfect process of accepting who you are, offering gentle encouragement to anyone taking a new step forward without pretending the journey is ever easy. “Boku wo Sagashiteta” is one of two title tracks on the group’s upcoming double A-side single, released alongside “LOCA“, a high-energy, cross-border collaboration with NEX and AA of Thai breakout group BUS because of you i shine.
Rather than chasing dramatic highs, “Boku wo Sagashiteta” finds its emotional weight through restraint. Built around piano, strings and brass, the arrangement unfolds gradually, allowing each verse to gather momentum until the vocals become the song’s emotional centrepiece. The result is an intimate ballad that lingers long after the final note, balancing vulnerability with quiet optimism.
The music video expands those themes into a cinematic story led by member SORA NAMBA. Constantly connected through social media, the teenage protagonist finds himself trapped in endless comparisons until he no longer recognises who he really is.
Chasing a mysterious version of himself, he wanders into an empty town, and it’s there that the story turns.
Throughout the story, the members of LIL LEAGUE appear dressed in white, acting as silent guides who offer comfort and reassurance during the boy’s most uncertain moments.
NAMBA, who plays the protagonist, described the shift between filming alone and filming with the other members: “When filming alone, I focused on that sense of loneliness, so being with the other members naturally brought a feeling of warmth and reassurance. In the MV, the protagonist rediscovers himself through memories with his friends. Having spent so much time together with the members in real life, I wanted to convey those shared moments as something truly precious.”
On the message behind the song, NAMBA added: “It’s easy to lose sight of who you are by comparing yourself to others or chasing an ideal. But you don’t have to become someone else, there are things that make you uniquely you. I hope this release encourages people to embrace what makes them unique and feel comfortable being themselves.”
“Boku wo Sagashiteta” speaks to something increasingly relevant in an age of constant comparison – the quiet, invisible anxieties almost everyone carries. Sometimes, finding yourself begins with accepting the person you’ve been searching for all along.
The story doesn’t stop there. LIL LEAGUE is heading overseas, confirming their performance in Thailand as part of NIPPON HAKU BANGKOK 2026.
The group takes the stage on 28 August, 16:00–16:45, at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, marking the Thailand debut performance of “LOCA“, the second track on the group’s 6th single “僕を探してた / LOCA“, out 26 August, just two days before the show. The group is joined on stage by NEX and AA of Thai boy group BUS because of you i shine.
