Quezon City, Philippines — Fresh off her victory as the Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition (together with Brent Manalo), content creator and actress Mika Salamanca reached a new milestone as she officially launched her first children’s book, Lipad, at Citadines Hotel, Quezon City.

The Story of Mahika
Lipad tells the enchanting tale of Mahika, a young fairy who feels inadequate and unworthy because of her small, unusual wings. Beneath the fantasy, however, lies a deeply personal story.
According to Mika, Mahika’s struggles mirror her own experiences while growing up.
“Itong librong ito, about sa akin siya. Sa batang ako siya. Sa struggles niya, isa sa mga struggles ko rin before noong bata,” Mika shared during the launch.
She further emphasized, “Si Mahika ay ako po.”
A Book with a Purpose
More than just a passion project, Lipad carries a mission of hope and generosity. Mika announced that 100% of the book’s proceeds will be donated to charity, ensuring that Mahika’s story not only inspires readers but also makes a tangible impact on communities in need.

Official Debut at the Manila International Book Fair 2025
Following its intimate launch, Lipad will take center stage at the Manila International Book Fair 2025, happening on September 10–14 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. Mika is set to hold a special reading session and book signing during the event, where fans and young readers can connect with both the story and its author.

From Reality TV Winner to Storyteller
Mika Salamanca’s journey from reality TV big winner to children’s book author highlights her growth as an artist and as an advocate for self-love and resilience. Just like Mahika, Mika proves that even with small wings, one can soar to great heights — and inspire others to do the same.
