MNL48 Opens 5th Generation Auditions

MNL48 delivered a powerful performance during the ‘Reboot and Rise’ concert held on April 26, 2025, at SM North EDSA Annex.

(Manila, Philippines) – Philippine idol group MNL48, the official sister group of Japan’s AKB48, will begin accepting applications for new members on May 5, 2025. The upcoming audition, open worldwide, aims to form a truly global lineup that celebrates talent and diversity. 

AUDITION OVERVIEW 

• Start Date: 5 May 2025 
• Application: Online via the official website mnl48.ph (form available at 15:55 on May 5) • First Screening: Online – details to be announced on the website 

ELIGIBILITY 

• Female, 18 years old or above 
• A passion for singing, dancing or performing, with a positive team mindset 

PREFERRED BACKGROUNDS (optional) 

• At least one-quarter non-Philippine heritage 
• Over one year of residence abroad 
• Graduated from an overseas university 
• Fluency in languages other than English or Tagalog 

Successful applicants will receive professional training and the opportunity to perform for fans from Manila to New York, Tokyo to Toronto, establishing MNL48 as a borderless idol group.
