HBO Receives 14 Emmy® Wins at the 76th Annual Emmy® Awards
The 14 HBO | Max wins represent 6 HBO Originals: Alex Edelman: Just for Us (1), Going to MarsGoing to Mars: The Nikki Giovanni Project (1), The Idol (1), Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (2), Taylor Mac’s 24-Decade History of Popular Music (1) and True Detective: Night Country (1) as well as 5 Max Originals: Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake (1), Conan O’Brien Must Go (1), Clone High (1), Hacks (3) and Scavengers Reign (1).
HBO | Max received 14 Emmy® wins at the 76th annual Emmy® Awards and across the Creative Arts Ceremonies.
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
- Hacks won three (3) Emmys® including OUTSTANDING COMEDY SERIES marking the first Emmys® program win for Hacks and the first ever Emmy® program win for a Max Original. Additionally, this marks the third time Jean Smart has won the OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS in a Comedy Series Emmy® for her role as Deborah Vance and the second time Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky have won the OUTSTANDING WRITING FOR A COMEDY SERIES Emmy® after winning the Emmy® for the show’s first season.
- HBO and Max combined, won four (4) of the six (6) Emmys® for OUTSTANDING WRITING, making Max the most Emmy®-winning platform for Writing less than a year after the conclusion of the WGA strike.
