  1. Look for a Mentor

Having a mentor in college is always a good idea since a mentor can help guide you through your college career and give you advice on everything from what classes to take to what clubs to join. A mentor can also be someone who is there to listen when you need them to and who can reassure you that at the end of the day, things will be okay and you will make it through college in one piece.

  1. Hire an Essay Writing Service

Believe it or not, these exist. Custom essay writing services is run by a group of academic professionals who in exchange for a small fee, can write your college essays for you. They can even go as far as to help with research or even proofread an essay that you may have already written. Essay writing services are helpful especially when you have a million other things on your plate and simply don’t have time to get your assignments done, or when you just need a break.

  1. Attend Orientation

Although orientation may be mandatory in some schools, it isn’t always. Orientation may seem pointless, but it is a great way to get to know your school as well as your peers. At orientation you will be able to get a look at what your life will be like for the next several years and maybe even get to join a club or two. Typically, you also get a tour of the campus which is a great way to get to know where your classes will be held so that you aren’t lost on your very first day.

  1. Take Notes

This should go without saying, but you’d be surprised at how many people attend class and don’t take notes. Whether on your laptop, via a recording device, or on plain old pen and paper, be sure to write down the key points that your professor is making. If you happen to miss a class, don’t hesitate to ask a classmate for their notes, or simply reach out to your professor for a review. Without notes, you won’t have anything to look back on when it comes time to study for a test or work on an assignment.

  1. Join a Club or Two

If you are someone that finds making friends a little difficult, consider joining a club. There are all kinds of clubs in college so there is bound to be one that sparks your interest. Joining a club is a great way to meet like-minded people and attend events or activities. As important as studying is, it is also good to give yourself a break every once in a while and work on your social life as well. Ultimately, having good friends is just as important as getting your assignments done and paying attention in class.

  1. Find a Study Group

For many people, studying can be a struggle. If you are having a tough time staying organized or taking notes, consider joining a study group. You can help one another out in study groups and quiz each other or compare notes while also preparing for exams together. A study group can also be a fun way to learn as it involves being social as well. Make snacks, take a coffee break, or put on some music and take out those notecards. Just because you are learning doesn’t mean it has to be boring or dull!
