“The Clash” season 3 grand champion Jessica Villarubin released her new single “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin,” a song written by popular composer Vehnee Saturno.

During the mediacon for Jessica’s “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin,” the singer revealed that she chose the song to become her new single because it’s written by Vehnee Saturno.

“Actually ‘yung last song ko po narelease is last year ‘yung ‘Beautiful’ tapos ang GMA Music nagpresent po sa akin ng mga songs. So sa lahat po ng pinresent nila, ito pong ‘Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin’ ang napusuan ko kasi po parang very positive lang ‘yung song and it’s a love song. What’s special about this song din po is kinompose po ito ni Sir Vehnee Saturno which is a very well-known composer. Alam din po naman natin na isa siya sa mga composers na nilu-look forward ng mga artists at marami rin po siyang napasikat na mga kanta,” she said.

Because she’s still single, Jessica dedicates the song to her parents. She also recommends the song to lovers in a long-distance relationship because it depicts the deepest longing of a person to his/her other half who is far away.

“Siguro ma-dedicate ko ito for LDR (long distance relationship) couples na malayo sa isa’t isa. Hindi hadlang ang distance when you love someone. Para rin ito sa mga LDR diyan,” she shared.

But what’s the real score between her and fellow “The Clash” champion Jeremiah Tiangco”?

“Si Jeremiah po talaga in real life is very caring. ‘Yan po talaga ang masasabi ko sa kanya kasi nung first time po na nanalo ako sa ‘The Clash’ then andun siya, sina Golden, and yung mga champions parang siya po ‘yung laging nandun for me to guide me so i’m very thankful po for Jeremiah kasi di ba kapag bago kang panalo ang dami mong tanong kung ano kaya ang mangyayari dito, ano kaya ang gagawin pa natin, so siya po ‘yung nageexplain sa akin na ganito, ganito ‘yung gagawin mo, yung mga ineexpect mo so dapat galingan mo, i think ‘yun yung best character niya ‘yung pagiging caring, pagiging concern, she said. But Jessica reiterated that she and Jeremiah are just good friends.
