Kyline Alcantara is New Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism

Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), a government agency dedicated in promoting Korea tourism, officially appointed Filipino celebrity – Kyline Alcantara as the new Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism in the Philippines.

In a press conference, Mr. Hyung Joon Kim, Director of KTO Manila, announced, “we are very pleased to welcome our new Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism in the Philippines, Ms. Kyline line has yet to visit Korea but had gladly accepted the duty and said, “I feel very much honored and grateful that KTO chose me to be the next ambassador of Korea tourism. As a fan of Korean food, dramas, music, it is a wonderful opportunity for me to learn more of not only K-dramas or K-pop but also Korean culture and what it has to offer to us Filipinos. I am very much excited as it will be my first time travelling to Korea.”

When asked for the criteria of choosing an ambassador, Director Kim answered, “there are several factors we considered before making our choice. First, Kyline is interested in Korean culture and heritage. Another reason is that she has wide range of charms and talents – she’s an actress, a singer, and a performer. Lastly, Kyline is one of the Philippines’ most promising and influential young actresses
and is active in a lot of SNS platforms, with over 19 million followers across her accounts. We believe that through her good image and influence, she can help us to reach and encourage more Filipinos to be potential supporters of Korean tourism like herself.”

Kyline has been in the showbiz industry since she was 8, starting from playing younger actress counterparts. Now, in the 12th year of her career, she is an accomplished actress, singer and performer with numerous top-rating teleseryes, brand endorsements and OSTs under her name. When asked about her dream acting roles, Kyline mentioned a romantic-comedy movie or series with A-list Korean actors Lee Jong Suk or Gong Yoo is on top of her list.

As part of her duty as the new ambassador, Kyline will be given chances to visit Korea this year, and will be sharing her experiences during her trips through her SNS pages. She will also promote Korea at various events, arranged by KTO and other Korean government agencies. She will officially start her stint as an ambassador on April 30 (Saturday) for KTO’s first offline event in 2022 entitled, Ganda Korea DIY Travel Seminar, which aims to promote and educate Filipino travelers of how accessible and safe Korea is for individual travel. The event will be held at the SM North Edsa Skydome, Quezon City. Admission is free but pre-registration is needed.

To kick-off its 10th year anniversary celebrations, KTO Manila launched the online campaign “Ganda Korea”, which translates to both Korean and Filipino language. In Korean, “ganda” means goes or let’s go, while in Filipino, it translates to beautiful. Thus, the tagline “Let’s go to beautiful Korea”.

KTO Manila further revealed that they are planning a lot of projects for Filipino tourists this year, and that they are expecting for travel to Korea to begin again.
