In a recent blogcon hosted by Sparkle GMA Artist Center, Kapuso OST Princess Hannah Precillas revealed that her latest single “Sadly Falling” under GMA Music is kind of based on her real-life experience.

The heartbreak ballad was composed by director Njel de Mesa and it debuted at the no. 5 spot on iTunes Philippines and was included in Spotify Philippines New Music Friday playlist.

The song tells the story of how Hannah herself fell out of love from her long-term relationship.

“Well, sa past relationship ko, yes nangyari po talaga na I was sadly falling out of love kasi hindi maiiwasan ang problema kasi ang naging problem kasi noon paulit-ulit, nagiging paulit-ulit siyang nangyayari and then I realized na somehow naging manhid ako na alam mo ‘yun na masyadong umiral na ‘hindi mahal ko yung tao e, ok lang yan ipaglaban pa’ pero hindi ko napapansin din na ako pala ang nauubos na. Napagod din pala ako na hindi ko namalayan na may mga reason na lang na kaya ako kumapit sa relationship dahil sa bagay na ‘to, dahil sa bagay na ‘yan pero ‘pag tinimbang mo kung mahal mo pa ba yung tao or hindi na, mas lumamang na pala na hindi ko na mahal ‘yung tao. Dumating na pala ako sa point na natatakot na lang ako mag-isa. Natatakot ako maiwan na sa haba ng panahon siya ang kasama ko tapos biglang mawawala na lang, parang hindi ko matanggap nung una. Di ko maimagine na ‘yung tao na ‘yon iba ang makakasama, ako rin hindi ko maimagine ‘yung sarili ko na iba na ang makakasama ko so ‘yun lang ang naging reason kung bakit ako kumakapit pero kung tutuusin, hindi na siya tama. So na-fall out of love ako and eventually nagkaroon din ako ng lakas ng loob kasi pinagdasal ko talaga ‘yun na ‘Lord ano po ang tama kong gagawin?’ Dapat bang i-give ko pa ng chance kasi nakailang chance na e. Pinagdasal ko kung bibigyan ko pa ng chance or hindi na, mas mamahalin ko pa ba ang tao na ‘to o dapat mahalin ko na rin ang sarili ko, kasi nawala ‘yun for a time. So ayun, yun ang naging reason kung bakit ako na-fall out of love,” the singer narrates.

Hannah is happy to be part of the writing process of “Sadly Falling.”

“Sobrang saya ko sa kanta na ito dahil may input na ‘ko somehow sa song na ‘to and I’m very thankful kay Sir Pao na inupuan namin at pinagusapan namin kung ano ‘yung mga gusto ko…iba kasi sa pakiramdam pagka-ganun e na tatanungin ka ng producer mo. I was very happy na na-tiyempo rin na hindi lang ako nakakarelate sa meaning ng song but literal na may voice ako rito,” she said.

Although “Sadly Falling” is not the kind of song that her fans usually hears from her, she feels accomplished that she was able to deliver, connect and relate the song with the listeners.

“Kasi ako, hindi naman porket bibirit ka dun ka lang magaling. Na-test ko rin ang sarili ko na kahit toned-down ‘yung song ng konti ay kailangan ko pa rin siyang madeliver ng maayos at ‘yung koneksyon ko sa lahat ng makikinig ay nandun pa rin,” she said.

Hannah also shares a lesson she learned from her singing career from her ‘contest’ days to becoming a formidable recording artist.

“Dumaan din ako sa phase ng buhay ko at ng career ko na sobrang napu-frustrate ako. Ako rin ang nag-suffer, kumbaga nahirapan din ako. So after ilang years ko with GMA natutunan ko na rin kung paano i-handle. Na-realize ko lang na dapat kong gawin is not to compete all the time parang, yes, you have to do your job din properly pero hindi naman laging ah si ganito ganyan ang ginagawa niya sa dapat ako rin, mahirap din kasi na palaging ganun ang mindset mo,” she shared.
