The first Idol Philippines winner, Zephanie Dimaranan, known mononymously as Zephanie, is now a Kapuso!

After several days of speculations brought about by some blind items about a Kapamilya singer transferring to GMA, it was revealed on the last day of March that Zephanie switched networks and signed a contract with GMA Network’s talent arm Sparkle GMA Artist Center.

Dubbed as “This Generation’s Pop Princess,” the 19-year-old belter from Binan Laguna was named as the New Female Recording Artist of the Year in the 12th PMPC Star Awards for Music.

Last year, Zephanie was the Philippine representative for the Now United Creative Hub, along with 17 selected young and talented artists from around the world.

Ms. Gigi Santiago Lara, GMA’s Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions, has good words for Zephanie.

“I’ve met Zephanie quite a few times, napakabait na bata, magalang at higit sa lahat very very talented so she’s really perfect for GMA and for Sparkle,” she said.

Zephanie is looking forward to perform on stage with her favorite Kapuso artists like Julie Anne San Jose, Lani Misalucha, Mark Bautista, Christian Baustista, to name a few.
