Does All Natural Tanning Oil Make You Tanner?

There are a lot of products out there designed to help achieve that depth of tan that you are looking for. An even tan that we all seek during those cold winter months is just around the corner. The warm summer months can be duplicated with the right product. Most of the ones currently and widely available on the market, though, come designed with tons of chemicals and manmade ingredients. What if you want to use an all-natural taking oil option? Will you get the same rich tan you desire? Or do all-natural tanning oils make you tanner?

Keep reading and we will discuss just that!

How Does Tanning Oil Work?

Tanning oil is crafted to help you get a deep tan faster than normal sunbathing. In addition to providing convenience, it also means you don’t have to lay out under the harmful rays of the sun for too long. Most of these oils have a low level of SPF, which gives them a slight protection capability, reducing the risk of skin damage.

Oils That Can Be Used

That being said, you don’t have to use the manufactured oil to achieve this. In fact, you can use natural oils that can be found in your kitchen. Here are a few of the best oils that can be used as all-natural tanning oils:

  •       Sunflower Oil – Sunflower oil is great for hydrating dry, cracked skin, as well as helping to improve elasticity. This oil does seem to attract a lot of UV rays, so it might be best to use it sparingly and carefully.
  •       Coconut Oil – If you have sensitive skin, this could be the best choice for you. The oil offers an SPF of 4, and is used quite often for tanning. Plus, it smells good!
  •       Avocado Oil – This oil has a lot of omega fatty acids and vitamins. It can help soothe skin after it has been exposed to the sun.
  •       Extra Virgin Olive Oil – EVOO has a rich deposit of Vitamin E, which is great for your skin. This will help your skin hydrate itself, as well as soothe any irritation while tanning.
  •       Argan Oil – This oil has a lot of capabilities, but the one it is best known for is hydration of the skin. It also has the ability to protect from damage caused by the harmful rays of the sun.
  •       Hazelnut Oil – This is one of the most popular ingredients used in tanning oils. That may be because it has a large dose of vitamin E, and plenty of those essential fatty acids.

Why Use All Natural Tanning Oil?

The question is, do all-natural tanning oils make you tanner? The answer is yes. Each of the oils we looked at above will give you a deeper tan faster, just like the store-bought products you have been using for years. The difference is that you will be doing away with the harmful chemicals used in some of those formulas.

Instead, you will be using natural oils that are chock-full of nutrients and minerals that can help nourish your skin at the same time. That being said, they should still be used sparingly and never as a replacement for your sun protection.
