WeTV’s ‘Boyfriend No. 13’ Wins Two Nat’l Awards at the AACA

The stars and signs aligned for WeTV Original series Boyfriend No. 13 as they bagged two national awards at the Asian Academy Creative Awards. The winners were announced during a virtual event held last September 30. 

Boyfriend No. 13  was selected as the National Winner – Philippines for Best Comedy Programme and Best Original Screenplay for writer Michelle Ngu. These two awards are the first that WeTV’s original content has been recognized for – strengthening the streamer’s vision of bringing compelling local content to the wider global market. The winners of the AACA’s international competition will be announced in December.

Boyfriend #13 is the second WeTV Original romantic comedy series to launch on the streaming service for 2021.  Sue Ramirez, JC De Vera and JC Santos star in this unique love story about a superstitious girl who believes she’s found her soulmate, except he will also become unlucky boyfriend no. 13. So she comes up with a plan with the help of a charming and handsome officement to evade this misfortune. Now if only destiny were so easily fooled. The show was directed by top comedian John Lapus, and also stars Lotlot de Leon, Phi Palmos, Hershey Neri, and Brian Sy.
