‘Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin’s’ ‘War of the Century’ Trends on Twitter

Viewers were captivated as the ultimate acting showdown—touted as the “War of the Century”—erupted between the country’s finest actresses Jodi Sta. Maria, Iza Calzado, Rita Avila, and Maricel Soriano as in “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin” last Thursday (March 11).

Nanay Lucing (Maricel Soriano) and Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria) have finally reached their breaking point when the latter was handed a subpoena for allegedly spying on Ceñidoza, pushing them to storm Ellice (Iza Calzado) and Belen’s (Rita Avila) home.

“Nagawa mong ipapatay si Jacob noon at ni katiting na pagsisisi hindi ko nakita sa iyo! Kung alam ko lang na ganyan ka ka-demonyo, e di sana matagal na kitang pinapatay sa dinami-dami ng panahon na pinalagpas ko!” an enraged Marissa told Ellice.

Marissa had earlier confessed to Nanay Lucing Jake’s (Grae Fernandez) at true identity and that Ellice was behind the killing of her real son, Jacob. “Marissa, oras na para harapin si Ellice, para mabigyan ng linaw ang lahat ng atraso niya sa atin,” a disturbed Lucing urged her daughter.

Meanwhile, angered by the series of revelations about Ellice, Gabriel (Sam Milby) has decided to leave their marriage, despite her desperate pleas.

Social media exploded with praises and comments about the encounter that viewers had just witnessed, showering the four actresses with praises for their intense acting performance.

@ImNotthatScary tweeted, “This 4-way-slapping frenzy is one for the record books, definitely going to be remembered as one of the most explosive moments on local tv. Grabe ang gagaling. Iza Calzado, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Ms. Maricel Soriano. #ASIAAWarOfTheCentury.”

@CristianCofino2 wishes to have a book 3, “Hindi kami nagsisisi na naging fan kami nang #AngSaIyoAyAkin, lalo na yong nanay na laging galit kay Belen at Caesar hahahaha. Kudos, Team ASIAA. beke nemen magawan nang paraan yong book 3. And ang bitin kasi parang nasa book 1 pa nga actually ngayong ep #ASIAAWarOfTheCentury.”

“That was so intense! I could watch it over and over again without getting tired @MissIzaCalzado @JodiStaMaria @DiamondStarNews,” @Marjoriecathriz expressed.

@MamuOlivias shared, “#ASIAAWarOfTheCentury Grabe, ang intense! Ang sampalan na kumabog sa lahat ng sampalan sa balat ng telebisyon! Nanay Lucing lang ang sakalam! Team Marissa here!

@JanKeerbee also tweeted, “From Day 1, I always commended the stellar cast of this series. Now, nadagdagan na ang mga naaabot nila sa huling dalawang linggo. This episode showed how brilliant the actresses and actors of #ASIAAWarOfTheCentury! Walang magpapakabog!”

Can things get worse after this confrontation? Will Ellice be eaten by her anger against Marissa? What will be Caesar’s (Simon Ibarra) next steps after successfully provoking Marissa and Ellice to clash?
