X1’s Kim Yo Han to Star in K-Drama ‘School 2020’

X1 center and Produce X 101 Season 4 top-notcher Kim Yo Han is going to debut as an actor as he was chosen to star in the K-drama “School 2020,” the eight installment to the “School” series which launched the career of Asian superstars such as Park Bo Gum and Lee Jong Suk.

In a recent interview with Star1 magazine, the Idol talked about the milestone in his life. “I had invested much of my life to sports, having gone so far as being an alternate for the Korean national taekwondo team. When I switched gears and became an idol trainee, there was a lot of anxiety. I think it’s a miracle that I received so much love through ‘Produce X 101,’” he said.

The heartthrob said he received invaluable advice from his Produce X 101 mentor Lee Dong Wook who was the host when he won the reality show. Wook is one of South Korea’s veteran actors.

“School 2020” is scheduled to air on KBS this August.

In a recent interview with Elle Magazine, Yo Han also shared that he won’t give up his singing career.

“I want to try a lot of things. I have a lot of ambitions as a singer. If possible, I’d like to enjoy life as an idol to the fullest during my twenties, when I’m young and shine the brightest,” he said.

Yo Han’s group X1 was disbanded last January because of the voting manipulation scandal that mired the show “Produce X 101” season 4. But because of his rising popularity, the fans can expect Yo Han to follow the footsteps of Kang Daniel, the winner of “Produce X 101” season 2 who, after leaving his group WannaOne became a successful solo artist.
