BTS Tops Billboard Social 50 on 169th Week, SB19 Stays at No. 10

BTS is still uncontested on top of the Billboard Social 50 chart for 169 weeks as of March 14, 2020. The beloved K-pop group has been in the chart for 178 weeks to date not to mention holding the distinction of having 4 no. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart.

The group was about to stage their “Map of the Soul” concerts in Seoul this April but leader RM announced earlier this week that it was canceled due to the spread of COVID-19.

And speaking of COVID-19, the group was nominated by no less than the Director-General of the World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to take the #SafeHands challenge to raise awareness on the importance of washing hands frequently to fight the spread of the dreaded coronavirus. This is something to look forward to in the coming days and for sure, it will trend on social media and influence young people around the world.

Meanwhile, Filipino Idol group SB19 is now on its 12th week on Billboard Social 50 staying at no. 10 position just behind Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga.

Just like BTS, SB19 has also canceled their upcoming concerts as Manila goes on lock-down today, March 15, because of COVID-19.
