Kim Taehyung, also known for his stage name V, topped the 2nd edition of “100 Sexiest Men in the World” online poll which was participated by thousands of fans from around the world. The 23-year-old BTS visual garnered a total of 171,266 votes during the final round beating 39 other finalists including last year’s winner and fellow BTS member Jeon Jungkook who settled for third place this year. Two other BTS vocal line members Jimin and Jin placed second and fourth respectively.

The poll, dubbed as the battle of male celebrities from around the world, started last November 2 and ended at noontime on Thursday, November 28 HKG/TPE time. The result video was released at around 7:00pm featuring the ranking of the celebrities from 100 to no. 1. Check it out:

Kim Taehyung was also named Asian Heartthrob of 2019 via an online poll earlier this year. Among the seven BTS members, he was the only one who had an acting stint via the hit period K-drama “Hwarang” where he starred alongside SHINee’s Choi Min-Ho and South Korea’s A-listers Park Seo-Joon and Park Hyung-Sik. And did you know that “V” is the number one most searched keyword in South Korea for the past five years?

Earlier this year, V released his first full solo track outside of BTS titled “Scenery” which he himself wrote and composed. Big Hit released the single through BTS’ SoundCloud page and it broke the platform’s record for reaching 100 million streams for the shortest time: 14 days! Three months ago, V released his second solo single and first English song called “Winter Bear.” It has a corresponding music video which was starred and directed by V himself and to date, it already garnered 29 million views.

The hashtag #VSexiestMan2019 is currently trending at no. 5 on Twitter Philippines and no. 16 worldwide with 39,900 tweets as of this posting.
