William Lorenzo and Barbara Miguel Find Hope after Yolanda Tragedy in ‘Kublihan’

Actor William Lorenzo and teen actress Barbara Miguel, as Christopher and Crizalyn Macato, find hope after Typhoon Yolanda, the strongest storm recorded in the Philippines, hit their home in 2013.

Don’t miss their journey to recovery as CBN Asia’s Holy Week TV special brings you Tanikala presents “Kublihan” on Good Friday, April 19, 2019, 5:30pm on GMA.

“Kublihan,” which means “shelter,” showcases God’s power to restore despite the seemingly impossible situation. It is a true to life story of a family separated for 7 years because of an unexpected tragedy. Just when they thought things couldn’t get worse, the family hit rock bottom when typhoon Yolanda struck their home.

Lorenzo described Christopher as a responsible father who is willing to sacrifice all for his family.
He shared how he can relate to his character. “Sometimes, I doubt God’s existence because of the overwhelming problems I face in life. However, I will realize that it’s just a challenge to awaken us that He is real and present. Never will He leave us because He loves us.”

Seeing the immense impact it will bring to the people’s lives, Lorenzo recalled why he said yes to this project with CBN Asia. “I’m doing this not only for myself but for Jesus and the people who will be transformed through this telecine.”

Meanwhile, Miguel portrayed the character of a brave and independent sister and daughter to Christopher named Crizalyn who fought to get her family back again. “Just like Crizalyn’s personality, I strive hard for my goals and dreams as an artist. There may be struggles but we both believe and put our faith in God,” she revealed.

“People from all walks of life should watch Tanikala presents “Kublihan” because it will open your eyes to the harsh realities of life. You will also understand that no matter how hard the storm may hit you and your family, you can become stronger. It’s filled with life lessons and your faith in God will increase,” she added.

Lorenzo starred in top teleseryes, such as Bridges of Love and La Luna Sangre while Miguel won best actress at the 2013 Harlem International Film Festival Awards and best child actress at the 2013 FAMAS awards for Migrante.

Tanikala presents “Kublihan” is produced by CBN Asia and directed by Icko Gonzalez. Don’t miss it on Good Friday, April 19, 2019, 5:30pm on GMA.
