Nominations Now Open for ‘100 Asian Heartthrobs of 2019’!
When we introduced the poll “100 Asian Heartthrobs” last June 2018, we did not expect that it’s going to be huge. The poll attracted visitors and fans to our website from various countries around the globe, even non-Asian countries like USA, Canada, Spain, United Kingdom, Brazil, UAE, New Zealand and Australia. We got almost 14 million votes in our online poll. The video got 2.2 million views. We even trended on Twitter worldwide. And after we released the result, we got featured in various TV programs like MBC News in Korea, Inside News in Thailand, Umagang Kay Ganda in the Philippines, etc.
With the rise of BTS and other K-pop groups in worldwide pop culture, and with the release of “Crazy Rich Asians” movie based on the bestselling book, it’s safe to say that there’s an Asian wave happening around the globe. And girls from various cultures are getting smitten by Asian heartthrobs be it in music, movies, or TV dramas. And due to insistent demand by netizens, we will hold the 2019 edition 6 months early!
The search is on for the 100 Asian Heartthrobs of 2019!
For our preliminaries, we are going to have 20 groups. Each group will have 8 nominees. The winner (highest vote-getter) from each group will fast-track to the finals. The second and third placers will compete in our wildcard round.
We are now opening the nominations to the public. Simply post a comment below this article with the name of your nominated celebrity and the country from where he is from. For example (we chose last year’s winner as example):
You will see all approved nominations in our preliminary polls one by one. Netizens will decide who among the nominees will advance to the next round.
NOTE: We will no longer implement the one-finalist-per-one-country rule! Meaning, there is no limit this year. One country can now dominate the Top 3 or Top 5 or even Top 10 as we are basing the ranking of the Top 20 solely on public votes.
Our first 8 nominees in group 1 will start vying for your votes on January 4, 2019.
