ABS-CBN’s hit fantaserye “Bagani” shocked its viewers Thursday (April 5) night with the sudden death of one of its lead characters, Mayari, played by young actress Sofia Andres.

Just a few weeks after Apo bestowed upon them magical weapons, the baganis already bid farewell to one member, who sacrificed her life to protect the sea region from Sarimaw’s (Ryan Eigenmann) wrath.

Even Lakas (Enrique Gil) and Ganda (Liza Soberano) couldn’t believe the bad news brought by Dumakulem (Makisig Morales), who personally witnessed how a bolt of lightning ended Mayari’s life.

Although saddened by their friend’s death, the baganis will not let Mayari die in vain as they use her loss to motivate them in taking their responsibility to defend Sansinukob to heart.

Since the series started, Mayari has been a symbol of hope and dreams. Despite being a slave in their region, Mayari stood up for her beliefs and remained positive that one day, they will all be treated equally in society. She strived hard to prove herself and to stay true to her heart.

Now that she is dead and Lakam has joined Sarimaw’s camp, how will Lakas, Dumakulem, and Ganda beat Sarimaw? Can Gloria (Dimples Romana) help them?
