ABS-CBN Wins Best TV Station at Paragala Awards for 5th Year
ABS-CBN remains the top TV station for Central Luzon students as the country’s leading media and entertainment company picked up the Best National TV Station award at the Paragala Central Luzon Media Awards for the fifth straight year as “It’s Showtime”’s Vice Ganda was formally elevated to the Hall of Fame, having won Best Noontime Show Host for three consecutive years.
Coco Martin and Bea Alonzo led the roster of artists who won recognition for their work in top-rating entertainment shows. Coco Martin won Best Television Actor for “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” as Bea Alonzo won Best Television Actress for “A Love To Last.” Meanwhile, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” won “Best Teleserye.”
“Bandila” anchor Karen Davila won Best Female Anchor, while broadcast journalist Doris Bigornia won Best Female Field Reporter.
“It’s Showtime”’s Tawag ng Tanghalan” judge Yeng Constantino won Best Female Recording Artist while “ASAP” performer Jason Dy won Best Male Recording Artist.
The top-rating “It’s Showtime” was voted as Best Noontime Show, while its hosts Vhong Navarro and Anne Curtis won Best Male Noontime Show Host and Best Female Noontime Show Host respectively. Sunday variety show “ASAP” won Best Musical Variety show.
Regional TV station ABS-CBN Pampanga also won a Cultural Merit Award for promoting Filipino culture.
The Paragala Central Luzon Media Awards recognizes the best shows and media personalities in the country as voted by students in Central Luzon. This year, the 5th Paragala Awards was able to gather 30,000 votes from 31 universities in Pampanga, Bulacan, Bataan, Tarlac, Zambales, and Nueva Ecija.
