John Roa Leaves Ex Battalion, Signs Contract with Viva Artist Agency

Rapper and songwriter John Roa (also known as JRoa) revealed on Tuesday, February 5, that he left the hip hop group Ex Battalion or “ExB” to focus on his solo musical career. He signed a contract with Viva Artist Agency and he is slated to release his EP later this month.

Roa clarified that there’s no bad blood between him and the band (who popularized the song “Hayaan Mo Sila”). He expressed his intent to leave the group nicely and they accepted his decision. Another member, Flow-G, even pledged to support’him on his future plans.

“Nakasali ako sa Ex Battalion last 2016.

Pero when it comes to our music at pag-support sa isa’t isa, nandoon pa rin,” he said.

Now that he’s already signed a contract with Viva, Roa enumerated the things that his fans should expect from him in the future.

“I’m gonna release a lot of music and more projects din po, siguro acting, and I’ll be writing more songs po. I’ll be releasing my EP hopefully this month. Some songs in the EP are written by me and some songs are co-written and written by my mentor Quest,” he said.

John’s single as a solo artist titled “Oks Lang” is currently doing well in various music charts.

“Last last week po nag-number two siya so sobrang malaking bagay din po sa akin ‘yun kasi first time ko pong mag-Myx parang Myx debut ko rin po. Sobrang malaking bagay sa akin tapos ngayon rin po in a span of four weeks magpo-four million na po tayo,” he proudly said.
