Tuko and Sofronio Make It to ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ Grand Finals

Tuko Delos Reyes of Aurora and Sofronio Vasquez of Misamis Occidental are the newest singers to advance to the grand finals of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” on “It’s Showtime” after winning the Quarter 3 week-long semifinals that culminated on Saturday (February 3).

Tuko recorded the highest combined score of 95.95% from the madlang people text votes and judges’ scores, while Sofronio garnered 87.57%.

Both singers were moved to tears when announced the winners of the semifinals, bringing home P150,000 each and beating the other four contenders from Visayas and Mindanao.

The two new grand finalists have been vocal about chasing their dreams and passion for singing despite having pursued different fields. Tuko majored in information technology, while Sofronio is a dental medicine graduate, but both have perform in gigs and events to support their family.

Tuko and Sofronio will face tough competition in the grand finals with Jovany Satera at Alfred Relatado of Quarter 1, Anton Antenorcruz and Remy Luntayao of Quarter 2, and global grand finalists Steven Paysu and Makoto Inoue.
