Patrick Sugui Portrays Fashion Designer Rey Michael Leyva on His First ‘MMK’ Lead Role

Patrick Sugui lands his first lead role in “MMK” as he gives life to the inspiring story of famous fashion designer Rey Michael Leyva this Saturday (Dec 16).

Way before he made dresses for Anne Curtis, Kim Chiu, Kris Aquino and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Rey (Patrick) already knew that he was gay like his brother Brian (Angelo Ilagan). However, when he saw how Brian suffered after opening up about his sexual orientation, he chose to hide his real identity.

Growing up, Rey looked up to Brian because of the courage and hardwork his brother invested in the fashion line business the latter owned to prove their father wrong, which Rey thought he could not do.

Although unexpected, their father eventually accepted Brian’s identity, but Rey still continued his pretense and even pursued a career as a flight attendant.

Until one day, Brian got involved in a holdup incident that caused his death and would change Rey’s life forever.

Joining this upcoming episode are Yñigo Delen, Zaijian Jaranilla, Dominic Ochoa, Aleck Bovic, Mico Aytona, Marc Acueza, Axel Torres, Sarah Carlos, and Mikee Agustin. The episode is directed by Raz dela Torre and written by Akeem del Rosario and Arah Jell Badayos. “MMK” is led by business unit head Roda C. dela Cerna and Star Creatives COO Malou Santos.
