‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ Quarter 2 Semis Heats Up as Metro Manila and Visayas Bets Fights for their Dreams

“It’s Showtime” once again showcases topnotch Filipino talent in the last week of its month-long eighth anniversary celebration as the best singers from Metro Manila and Visayas face off in the Quarter 2 Semifinals of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” Year 2.

The week-long competition continues this week as the five semifinalists – four from Metro Manila and one from Visayas – sing their hearts out and prove that they deserve a spot in the grand finals.

Metro Manila’s Anton Antenorcruz bravely faces the competition using his vocal talent and perseverance, despite not being with his family. He might have set aside his love for singing, but now, he will not let the chance pass of performing on stage and doing what he does best.

Age is just a number for John Raymundo of Metro Manila, who, at 57, is trying to reach his life-long dream of becoming a singing superstar. Coming from a family of musicians, John is now ready to take the biggest challenge of his career and make his clan proud.

Another contender from Metro Manila, Mark Michael Garcia, started out as a dancer but later on discovered he has vocal chops. With the chance of getting in the grand finals, Mark will prove that he also has a spot in the music industry using his soulful voice.

Rico Garcia, also from Metro Manila, longs for the love of his children, who have been away from him for several years. As he battles for his dreams, he will make his family his inspiration to win the competition.

The lone girl and Visayas contender, Remy Luntayao will fight for the life of her mother, who is suffering from a kidney disease. Her angelic voice and spirit to win will be her weapon to secure a spot in the finals.

Like the previous semifinals, the judges’ scores and the madlang people’s votes will determine the contenders that will make it to the grand finals.

They will be judged based on how they perform their audition song, fight song, song for their families, song of their musical influence, the judges’ choice, and song about their life.

Who among the semifinalists will make it to the grand finals?
