ABS-CBN Leads TV Ratings in September with 47% Audience Share Nationwide

ABS-CBN remained as the country’s top TV network with the most watched relevant news and values-oriented programs in September, recording an average audience share of 47% nationwide in both rural and urban homes, or 14 points higher compared to GMA’s 33%, based on data from Kantar Media.

The Kapamilya network also beat GMA in other areas like in Metro Manila where ABS-CBN enjoyed a 42% audience share vs GMA’s 28%,; in Total Luzon with 43% versus GMA’s 36%; in Total Visayas with 54%, beating GMA’s 27%; and in Total Mindanao with 54% versus GMA’s 30%.

Multinational audience measurement provider Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.

“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” (40.2%) celebrated its second anniversary on top as it kept its spot as the most watched program in the country, thrilling more viewers as Cardo (Coco Martin) went on a heart-pounding adventure to save his fellow Special Action Force members.

Next on the list is KathNiel’s “La Luna Sangre” (35.2%), which recently welcomed the return of Angel Locsin as Jacintha Magsaysay, bringing more action to viewers every night.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s flagship news program “TV Patrol” (33.8%) remained as the most watched news program in the country, compared to its rival show “24 Oras” that only got 20.9%.

Billy Crawford’s variety-talent-talk show “Little Big Shots” (33.3%) also drew more viewers last month as it impressed and inspired viewers with the remarkable talents and touching stories of Pinoy kids.

Also bringing inspiration to audiences was “MMK 25” (30.1%) with the the real-life stories of letter senders that reflect the lives of Filipinos. “Wansapanataym Presents: Amazing Ving” (27.8%), which concluded last month, also inspired and taught values and lessons to young viewers nationwide.

ABS-CBN also won across all time blocks, particularly in primetime where it recorded an average audience share of 51% or a 20-point lead over GMA’s 31%. The primetime block is the most important part of the day when most Filipinos watch TV and advertisers put a larger chunk of their investment in to reach more consumers effectively.
