Graduating Student Has Recurring Visions of Maria Makiling in ‘Brillante Mendoza Presents: Pagtatapos’

In time for graduation season, Festival de Cannes Best Director winner–Brillante Mendoza–takes us back to our grad-waiting phase through the latest episode of his film-made-for-television program Brillante Mendoza Presents: Pagtatapos.

This masterpiece tells the story of a 4th year folk dance student from the high school for the arts in Los Baños. It depicts how a troubled young girl goes through life as she faces her personal struggles concerning her studies, her family and her recurring visions of Maria Makiling.

More than just a story of teenage survival, “Pagtatapos” is a serious appeal to parents and families to take heed of the unspoken needs of their children. It raises awareness on a serious issue of youth suicide and how the family plays an important part in helping someone get through struggles such as these.

“Pagtatapos” beautifully depicts a story about making the right choice by choosing life. This made for television film is a reflection of TV5’s strong commitment to be the TV network that provides differentiated entertainment. Catch Brillante Mendoza Presents: Pagtatapos this Saturday, April 22, at 9:30PM on the Kapatid Network.
