‘Ignacio de Loyola,’ Favorite ‘MMK’ and ‘It’s Showtime’ Dramas, to Air on Jeepney TV Lenten Special

True-to-life stories of miracle and hope will be aired on Jeepney TV as the cable channel features “Maalala Mo Kaya” classics, “It’s Showtime” Lenten dramas, and the inspiring film “Ignacio de Loyola” in its special programming this Holy Week.

Jeepney TV brings back “Alitaptap,” the 2013 hit episode of MMK about a young boy who had to work hard to provide food for his family and served as the eyes, hands and feet of his almost blind mother. This chronicle, which stars Zaijan Jaranilla, Paul Salas and Precious Lara Quigaman, will be aired on Holy Wednesday, April 12, at 10PM.

Another “MMK” classic entitled “Poon,” features the story of a mom’s never-ending hope and faith as her son succumbs to death. Dina Bonnevie, Joel Torre, and Nash Aguas lead in this 2006 tale that will air on Holy Thursday, April 13 at 10PM.

Meanwhile, “Its Showtime” Lenten dramas will show more real life stories of courage and faith on April 13-14 at 1PM.

Catch Karylle as she takes on the role of “Stars on 45” Grand Champion in the “Haydee Manosca Story” on Holy Thursday. This will air back-to-back with the “Tinig ng Pangarap” story, about the “Stars on 45” champion, Ricardo Marcial.

In the “Chucks Ledbetter Story,” Coleen Garcia plays the role of the “That’s My Tomboy” finalist, while Vhong Navarro takes the lead in the story of his “Kalokalike,” Mark Tyler Dela Cruz, in the “It’s Showtime” dramas showing on Good Friday.

On Easter Sunday, the 2016 Filipino-produced film, “Ignacio de Loyola,” makes it debut on Jeepney TV at 8PM. It is about a young soldier who was forced to give us his dreams of knighthood and pursued his wild desire to become a saint. The movie is based on the memoirs of Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit order who was canonized as a saint in the Catholic Church. It stars Spanish actor, Andreas Munoz, as the lead, and it is the directorial debut of Paolo Dy.

    I appreciated the story of Ricardo Marcial, I have never heard about him before, I checked his performances in Star 45 Wow to Reasons and Stand Up, I hope to hear more of his songs…he was very good…
