In the series of episodes, a hostile alien race called Dominators arrives in Central City forcing Barry Allen (Austin Grant) to seek the help of the other DC TV Universe superheroes.

Spanning four shows, the DC TV Universe crossover special, “Superheroes vs Aliens,” begins at the tail end of this week’s episode of “Supergirl” (season 2, episode 8 “Medusa”). Allen and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) head over to Supergirl’s (Melissa Benoist) Earth and ask for her help in fighting off the Dominators in theirs.

The quest to defend Earth continues on “The Flash” (season 3, episode 8 “Invasion!”). Allen also enlists the help of Star City’s mayor and superhero Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), also known as Green Arrow, and the Legends of Tomorrow to fend off the threatening aliens. Through the course of their struggle a secret about Flashpoint is revealed and our heroes start to distrust each other.

On Arrow (season 5, episode 8 “Invasion!”), Queen finds himself in a world wherein he didn’t get on The Queen’s Gambit. In this world his parents are still alive and he’s engaged to Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). However, he begins to see that his idyllic life is not all as it seems. Meanwhile, Felicity and the rest of the gang take on the aliens with The Flash and Supergirl.

The crossover ends on “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” (Season 2, episode 7 “Invasion!”). Our superheroes and their friends continue to fight the Dominators. Stein (Victor Garber) figures out how to terminate the would-be invaders but he gets distracted by an aberration, which he made in 1987.
