Jodi Sta Maria on Int’l Emmy Nod: ‘Dreams Do Come True’

“This moment is a proof that dreams do come true.”

This is how actress Jodi Sta. Maria described her nomination in the Best Performance by an Actress category at this year’s International Emmy Awards.

In her short speech during the iEmmys Nominee Medal Ceremony, Jodi also thanked the iEmmys for the recognition, as well as ABS-CBN, Star Creatives, Star Magic, and her family for their understanding and support.

Jodi, along with Star Creatives business unit head Des Tanwangco and creative manager Henry Quitain who are representing the program “Bridges of Love” for its Best Telenovela nomination, are currently in New York to attend various iEmmy’s event before the gala night slated today (Nov 21) at the Hilton New York Hotel.

Aside from the Nominee Medal Ceremony, Jodi also sat down at the Nominee Panel Ceremony recently where she talked about her role as Amor Powers in “Pangako Sa ’Yo” alongside other Best Actor and Best Actress nominees.

Des and Henry also attended the Telenovela Panel Ceremony and discussed the story of “Bridges of Love.”

Aside from Jodi, Des, and Henry, the country is also represented by ABS-CBN chief content officer Charo Santos-Concio, who graced last year’s iEmmys as gala chair, and ABS-CBN Integrated Program Acquisitions and International Sales and Distribution head Leng Raymundo, who served as one of the jurors.

In the past years, ABS-CBN has been bringing the country’s name to the international scene through the International Emmy Awards. Among the ABS-CBN shows that have been nominated as Best Telenovela at the iEmmy’s are “Precious Hearts Romances Presents Impostor” (2011), “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” (2010), and “Kahit Isang Saglit” (2009). Actor Sid Lucero, meanwhile, was nominated for Best Actor in “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” (2010) and Angel Locsin for Best Actress in “Lobo” (2009).

Both “Pangako Sa’Yo” and “Bridges of Love” are produced by Star Creatives and distributed worldwide via ABS-CBN International Distribution.
