Ian Lariba is First Filipino to Compete in Table Tennis at the Olympics

For the first time in the history of the Olympic Games, the Philippines has entered an athlete into the table tennis competition!

Cagayan de Oro native Ian Lariba scored a victory last month during the Asian Qualification Tournament held in Hong Kong earning her one of the six highly-contested Olympic spots for the region (dominated by China) in the women singles category. The 21-year-old UAAP Most Valuable Player will face tough competition from Table Tennis Powerhouse countries China, Japan and Korea.

Don’t miss her journey as she represent our country in the 2016 Rio Olympics to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5 to 11, 2016. Coverage of the games will air on TV5, the official Philippine broadcaster of the Olympics Games.
