WATCH: 5 Times Truly Pinoy Happened on ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’

#WOWPhilippines and #MoreFunInThePhilippines are two hashtags that continue to make rounds on social media. It comes with no surprise that some contestants took inspiration from our very own culture.

PGT Pinoy

Here’s the top five list for #TrulyPinoy:

1. #KUNDIMANniINA (Francis Anne Virtudazo – Kundiman Singer)

One of the oldest forms of a love song, and more importantly of true Filipino romance, Francis Anne Virtudazo showed her Filipina pride with her very own kundiman that she used to sing to her kids.

2. #ELECTRICMASSKARA (Bacolod City Electric Masskara – Light Dancers)

The Masskara Festival of Bacolod is surely world-renowned and the group Electric Masskara was able to add their own flare by doing their version in darkness with their costumes bringing the bright lights.

3. #MODERNTINIKLING (Sandugo Dance Troupe – Modern Folk Dancers)

Tinikling is a traditional dance using bamboo poles being tapped to the rhythm of the beat while the dancers avoid getting caught when the poles are clapped with each other however the Sandugo Dance Troupe proved that the tinikling can also adapt to the modern times.

4. #BAMBOOMUSIC (Alicia Bohol Musika Kawayan – Bamboo Musicians)

An ode to our forefathers, the Alicia Bohol Musika Kawayan group reminded us how simple yet beautiful bamboo, ingenuously crafted to become musical instruments, can be.

5. #SAYAWSAYA (Bailes de Luces – Light Dancers)

Dancing, color, and smiles; three things which are always present in Filipino festivals. Bailes de Luces not only made use of all three but also impressed with their grand costumes proving how Filipinos are really made to party.
