A web series from China titled “Addicted” (Heroin) based from Chai Jidan’s novel “Are You Addicted?” starring Chinese actors Huang Jingyu (黃景瑜) and Xu Weizhou (许魏洲) is now getting popular in various countries.

Here is the premise of “Addicted” from the web series’ Weibo account:

Ever since he was young, Bai Luo Yin (Xu Weizhou) has been living with his careless father, Bai Han Qi and his grandmother. When he turned 16 years old, his biological mother Jiang Yuan is re-marrying, and her partner is the party’s high ranking official Gu Wei Ting.

Because of his mother’s death, Gu Wei Ting’s son, Gu Hai (Huang Jingyu), has been harboring a deep grudge towards his father. Due to the random hand of fate, the 2 brothers with wildly conflicting emotional backgrounds have been placed in the same class. With time, they slowly developed a different kind of feeling. Bai Luo Yin’s classmates, You Qi and Yang Meng, have been instrumental in the relationship.

The first 15 episodes of “Addicted” were shot in Beijing, China from November 30, 2015 to December 23, 2015. It aired via video streaming in the whole mainland China on SARFT but were taken off air after 4 weeks because of its homosexual theme. The episodes with English subtitles can now be seen in various YouTube channels by simply searching the terms “Addicted Web Series.”
