Mariel Pamintuan Portrays a Rape Victim Rejected by Own Mother in ‘MMK’

“MMK” presents the story of a young rape victim whose world got broken apart when her very own mother refuse to believe her claims this Saturday (Feb 5) on ABS-CBN.

Teen actress Mariel Pamintuan plays Sally, who at age 6 was already molested by her uncle but chose to conceal it from her mom to protect her siblings from her uncle.

After many years, her mom Lydia (Sunshine Cruz) decided to let another man into her life—the brother of her late husband—Sally’s other uncle.

Everything seemed to be fine at first, until Sally was raped by her mother’s new husband.

Hoping to get support and help, Sally finally got the courage to tell Lydia that she was raped by her uncle, but her mother did not believe her.

How could Lydia’s distrust of her own daughter affect the life of young Sally?
