Box office director Wenn Deramas passed away at 2:00am of February 29 because of a heart attack. He was 49 years old.

Comedian Vice Ganda was among the first to announce the director’s death on social media. He tweet early Monday morning:

Deramas directed Vice in several hit movies like “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” “Sisterakas,” “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin,” and the current record holder for highest-grossing Filipino film of all Time “Beauty and the Bestie” which surpassed half a billion pesos at the box office.
Aside from films, Deramas also helmed several Kapamilya teleseryes like “Mula Sa Puso,” “Flordeliza,” “Galema: Anak ni Zuma,” “Saan Ka Man Naroroon,” “Kokey,” “Volta,” “Dyosa,” “Walang Kapalit,” and “Kahit Puso’y Nasugatan” among others.
