It’s Showtime Names 2015 ‘Magpasikat’ Champion Today!
“It’s Showtime” hosts’ battle for supremacy continues as the champion of the annual “Magpasikat” competition will be hailed on Saturday (Oct 24).
This week, hosts Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Billy Crawford, Karylle, Jhong Hilario, Kuya Kim Atienza, Ryan Bang, and Eruption stunned the madlang people and the judges with their creative and unique performances.
The tandem of Karylle and Jhong Hilario first went on board with the competition last Monday (Oct 19). They showcased their singing and acting skills and touched the hearts of viewers with their original musical about two siblings who got separated for a long time but eventually got reunited.
On Tuesday (Oct 20), Vhong Navarro and Ryan Bang creatively used sound effects and showed a VTR of Kapamilya stars from “Banana Split.” But the biggest revelation was the guest appearance of Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz that surprised not only the madlang people but also the “It’s Showtime” hosts.
Team Vice Ganda, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz, meanwhile played with the minds of the viewers as they featured several optical illusions that was applauded by the audience and the judges last Wednesday (Oct 21). Also joining their mind-blowing performance were “Ang Probinsyano” lead star Coco Martin and “On the Wings of Love” on-screen tandem James Reid and Nadine Lustre.
Another emotional performance went down on Thursday (Oct 22) as Anne Curtis, Kuya Kim Atienza, and Eruption sent out a strong message about climate change to the madlang people. Anne and Eruption played as nature’s guardians and fought with Khu-Lim-Lim (Kim Atienza) to stop his plans of destroying the world. But as their performance ended, Kuya Kim had his head shaved live to call shed light on climate change and how it can affect future generations.
The last to perform team, Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia, did not disappoint the madlang people and their fans as they showcased their dance prowess in a love-themed performance.
“Magpasikat” is an annual competition for a cause of “It’s Showtime” hosts that started in 2010. The competition aims not only to provide entertainment to the madlang people, but also to send out help to the winners’ chosen charities.
Meanwhile, the stars of “Doble Kara” and “Pasion de Amor” joined ABS-CBN’s “Show the Love” campaign and went to communities to ask donations for the victims of typhoon Lando last Thursday. Collected donations will be turned over to Sagip Kapamilya for proper dissemination in affected areas.
