From hundreds who auditioned to the final 5, they emerged as the winners of GMA Network’s first multi-platform boy band search in the country, “To The Top.” Now, Joshua Jacobe, Adrian Pascual, Mico Cruz, Louie Pedroso and Miko Manguba are now collectively known as T.O.P. (Top One Project) and they are gearing up for the release of their first EP and music video.

During the blogcon for T.O.P. (Top One Project) on October 20 at Big D’s Smokehouse in Tomas Morato, Quezon City, the Kapuso boyband talk about their upcoming gigs, the kind of music they are singing, the skeptics, and the next chapter of their journey now that they are about to record their debut album.

On possible 6th member of their group:

Adrian: “Para sa akin, ang gusto kong maging pag-anim na miyembro ay si Bryan [Olano] kasi bestfriend ko nga siya, marami kaming pinagdaanang dalawa. Sa competition kami ang palaging magkasama, kami magkajam. Alam ko naman na sobrang talented niya e in terms of singing and dancing. Kaya niyang makipagsabayan e.”

On their difference/edge from other boybands:

Joshua: “Irerevolutionize po namin ang term na boyband dito sa Philippines.”

Mico C: “And di lang kami ‘yung typical na singing group, talagang this is something different. Kami ‘yung OPM boyband na talagang ibabalik namin ‘yung classics at the same time meron pa rin kaming original compositions.”

On who they feel as the emerging leader of the group:

Joshua: “Sa competition pa lang po, ‘yung leadership quality talaga nakita na namin kay Miko M. po.”

On skeptics and people who disagree with the result of “To The Top”:

Mico M: “Sobrang normal lang siya e so ‘yun dapat ang ine-expect namin. Tine-take na lang namin siya as motivation na mas galingan pa.”

On the challenges that they will all face now as a group:

Adrian: “Para sa akin ‘yung challenge dun e ‘yung tumatak sa tao yung pangalan namin na ‘Top One Project,’ ayun talaga ang challenge e. ‘Yun din ang objective namin na hindi lang siya tatatak ng saglit lang. Papatunayan namin na kakaiba kaming boyband.”
