Filipino singer Cyrus Villanueva sang “Boyfriend” by Justin Bieber during the first live show of “The X Factor Australia” Season 6 on Sunday, September 27, 2015. The 19-year-old is being mentored by Chris Isaak in the Boys category.

Before taking the stage, Cyrus said to the camera “If Chris isn’t impressed 100 per cent, then no doubt Bieber won’t be.”

But all four judges agreed Cyrus’ acoustic take on “Boyfriend” was superb.

Guys Sebastian said “I don’t need to say a lot…You’re a star.”

James Blunt said “He stole my line – I was gonna say you look like a pop star (referring to Guy’s comment).”

Dannii Minogue said “You sang the shh out of that!”

Chris Isaak said “I’m so happy for you because I know how hard you worked for that.”

Last year, our very own Marlisa Punzalan won “The X Factor Australia” under the guidance of Ronan Keating. Will another Filipino win this year?
