Gelli de Belen on Independent Women: ‘Yung pagkatao niya kung buo siya’ (Video)

Gelli de Belen

During the press conference for the new TV5 sitcom “Misterless Misis,” Gelli de Belen shared her two cents on the independent women of today:

“I think independence doesn’t only mean successful in their jobs or their careers, I think a woman who is married with children, have family, maybe not working can also be independent pero nasa sa kanya ‘yun if she empowers herself with information, education and of course ‘yung pagkatao niya kung buo siya,” she said.

In the sitcom, Gelli plays the role of Lisa, wife of an OFW who is bombarded by the incessant rumor of the alleged philandering of her husband. Lisa represents the wives who live independently every day, away from husbands who work abroad.

Gelli joins other independent women like Ruffa Gutierrez, Andie Gomez, Lorna Tolentino, Ritz Azul and Ms. Mitch Valdez in “Misterless Misis,” a comedy program that highlights the modern-day lives of today’s Filipino women, showcasing the fulfillment and challenges of being independent women at the same time depicting them in a realistically funny way.

Directed by Mark Meily (“The Crying Ladies”), the new sitcom will premiere on August 9 at 9:00pm and it will air every Saturday on TV5.
