A couple of days ago, Andrea Brillantes trended on Twitter because a pornographic video clip featuring a girl that looks like the young actress circulated on Facebook.
Netizens defended the “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” star and warned the perpetrators to remove the video by invoking Republic Act No. 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 which says:
Taking a photo or video coverage of a person or group of persons performing sexual act. It includes capturing an image of a person’s private parts. Reproduction, copying, selling, or distribution of the photo or video of sexual act. Publishing, broadcasting, showing or exhibiting the photo or video of sexual act.
The hashtag #RespectAndreaBrillantes topped Twitter Philippines’ trending topics last Friday morning.
Here are some of the tweets by concerned netizens:
I hope the person who uploaded andrea brillantes' video gets to jail. So heartless! The kid's too young to be experiencing all of this 😔

Real or not. Fake or what. Still respect Andrea Brillantes 🙇 She's still young. She may commit suicide because of your judgements. 😞

Andrea Brillantes is only 12 years old. A minor kid who needs understanding and guidance, not judgement from others who needs maturity.
