The Department of Tourism is now putting the spotlight on the Western Vizayas province Iloilo. They released a TV commercial earlier this month to promote the province as a destination where the “past is always present.” Must-see places in Iloilo are the heritage sites such as the Jaro Cathedral, Lizares Mansion, Casa Mariquit, Molo Church, River Esplanade, Bahay Camiña nga Bato, and the UNESCO certified Miagao Church. Must-try dishes are La Paz Batchoy and Pancit Molo. Must-experience events are the Dinagyang Festival, Paraw Regatta Festival, Jaro Fiesta, and Chinese New Year.
