This May 21 and 22, Filipinos and sports enthusiasts in the Middle East are in for an awesome basketball experience as TV5 International helps bring three popular PBA teams to Dubai to play two games of the PBA Governors Cup live at the Al Shabab Al Arabi Club, Dubai, UAE.

Made possible by BlckMrkt International LLC and Clique Events Co., in cooperation with TV5 International’s Aksyon TV International, OSN and Cebu Pacific as presenters, with BPI, Avida and Amaia as major sponsors, “PBA in Dubai” features the teams of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, and GlobalPort Batang Pier who will delight Filipinos in Dubai with two action-packed games of the exciting Governors Cup Series on May 21 (Rain or Shine vs Global Port) and May 22 (Ginebra vs Rain or Shine).

TV5 International, through its news and sports channel Aksyon TV International, has been bringing overseas Filipinos closer to home by giving them front-row access to important sporting events in the Philippines such as the widely-followed PBA games. Now that the PBA is literally brought closer to Filipinos in Dubai through the much-anticipated “PBA in Dubai” event, TV5 International takes the lead in ensuring that its Kapatid subscribers get premier access to the actual hardcourt action as well as to exclusive behind-the-scene coverage of the PBA players’ activities throughout their stay in Dubai.

“We take pride in having a very strong presence in the Middle East and we are happy to say that we are continuously growing. The Middle East is such an important market for TV5 International because of the already established presence of thousands of Filipinos there. It is our commitment to constantly reach out to our Kapatid community in the Middle East and give them only the best TV viewing experience that will make them feel the warmth and closeness of home, which is of course the Philippines,” shared TV5 International Chief Operations Officer Ernesto “Bong” Sta. Maria, Jr.

TV5 International’s two channels, Kapatid TV5 and Aksyon TV International, are being shown in the Middle East through Orbit Showtime Network (OSN). “Through our two channels, we communicate to our viewers what makes TV5 a happy network. We at TV5 International want to extend this happiness to our Kapatid subscribers by giving them what they want. And because we have a strong base of Filipinos in the Middle East who are big PBA fans, we bring to them this rare chance to see their PBA idols and personally watch the PBA games even when they are thousands of miles away from home,” said TV5 International FVP – Head of Sales and Marketing Rona Lynn “Pie” Basiao.

As the presenter of “PBA in Dubai”, Cebu Pacific General Manager for Long-Haul Division Alex Reyes has this to say: “Cebu Pacific is happy to support TV5 International’s ‘PBA in Dubai’ as it gives us an opportunity to support the Filipino community in the UAE. Events such as this bring the Philippines closer to our hardworking and basketball-loving kababayans in Dubai, who may be missing home.”
