The Generation Y

Chinky de Jesus, ABS-CBN North America managing director says the Filipino youth is becoming a force to reckon with. De Jesus shares: “There are 10.2 million Filipinos overseas and among them is a growing number of 2nd generation Filipinos who are finding their place and voice in this world. They are transforming the picture of what it means to be a young Filipino today. They are undaunted community leaders, world-class artists and talents, passionate advocates of Filipino culture and global adventurers who celebrate the environmental bounty of the Philippines. Whatever they do, they all reflect the Filipino’s remarkability, resilience and rootedness that TFC honors through the new station ID ‘Galing ng Filipino.’”

Pamela Castillo, head of ABS-CBN Global Marketing Services adds that TFC’s new station ID does not only recognize their achievements. “The station ID also shows how they value their Filipinoness, how they respect their heritage, and how they interweave this into their passions in such a way that erases the differences in generations and propagates the Filipino culture anywhere in the world.”
