Tokyo Bubble Tea Unveils the Sakura Bento Trays and Sakura JCC Milk Teas

Tokyo Bubble Tea

Last month was very special for me because it’s my first time to travel to Japan and experience Hanami Festival, a tradition of simply enjoying picnics under the cherry blossoms also known as the Sakura trees. This Japanese custom happens during Spring which spans from the last week of March (end of winter) to the last week of May (beginning of Summer) when all the cherry trees produce light pink flowers and form a marvelous scenery.

Under the Cherry Blossoms

Here in the Philippines, we don’t have spring, only summer and rainy seasons. However, we can still experience the Sakura season at the Japanese-themed restaurant chain Tokyo Bubble Tea.

Last Friday, April 24, a group of bloggers (including yours truly) were invited to a food tasting at Tokyo Bubble Tea SM Megamall branch to try their Spring menu. The friendly service crews of TBT took our orders first and served us Bulgogi Nachos for appetizer.

The cheese-base sauce on top of the crunchy tortilla chips is a little bit spicy, it definitely whetted our appetite for the main course.

And in a jiffy, my order arrived: the Sakura Chicken Katsu.

TBT-Chicken

Part of Tokyo Bubble Tea’s Sakura Bento Trays, the Sakura Chicken Katsu is composed of japanese fried rice, a garden salad with special sakura sauce, sakura maki, a bowl of miso soup and of course, the japanese style fried chicken–the chicken katsu. You can order this meal for only P368.00.

My blogmates ordered the Sakura Ebi Furai which consists of the same set, except the main course is Ebi Tempura and Hamburg steak. This tray costs P388.

The third and last of the Sakura Bento Trays is the Sakura Soy Ginger Fish. You can order this one for only P328.00.

The three bento meals are best paired with Sakura JCC Milk Teas.

TBT-JCC-Milk-Shake

JCC, by the way stands for Japanese Cheese Cake. It gives the milk tea an edge because of its frothy topping and floral aroma.

There are three flavors to choose from: Sakura Royal Milk Tea, Sakura Strawberry Milk Tea and Sakura Taro Milk Tea. I picked the strawberry flavor and it tastes like my favorite strawberry milk shake but this one has a hint of cherry blossoms, even the smell! You can try each Sakura JCC Milk Tea for only P155.00.

This is important: when you purchase a Sakura Bento Tray and paired it with a Sakura JCC Milk Tea, you get the chance to pick a prize from the special Sakura Tree that you will see when you enter any Tokyo Bubble Tea resto. You can win Tokyo Bubble Tea gift certificates, TBT character t-shirts featuring any of the store’s mascots called “bubblets” (Sakura, Midori and Ichiban), and TBT plush toys of the said characters.

So what are you waiting for? Try the limited edition Sakura Bento Trays and Sakura JCC Milk Tea now at any Tokyo Bubble Tea branch near you! And since its a fully loaded meal, I suggest you order the dessert to go so you can share it with your loved ones at home so they too can have a taste of Japanese spring. My best bet is Honeybon’s Sakura Mango Cake which you can take home for only P550.00/box.
